As part of the Judaism and Animal Welfare video project, JES conducted interviews with prominent Orthodox rabbis about their personal connections to plant-based diets and the shechitah (ritual slaughter) industries. Below you can find these interviews according to Halachic and global topics:
Rabbi David Rosen
Rabbi David Rosen is the American Jewish Committee’s International Director of Interreligious Affairs. He served as the senior rabbi of the largest Orthodox Jewish congregation in South Africa, as Chief Rabbi of Ireland, and now with AJC in Jerusalem. He is also a prominent vegan activist and an Honorary President of the International Jewish Vegetarian and Ecology society.
