Neither well-meaning ethical exhortations nor purely technical solutions will be sufficient by themselves.
Twentieth Century science was revolutionized by the contributions of Jewish thinkers. Moreover, Israel’s world-leading high-tech economy testifies to our ability to transform cutting-edge science into successful applications.
Through its technology programs, Jewish Climate Initiative will seek to leverage this scientific expertise and talent, both in Israel and the Diaspora. We will promote collaborative research, and the development and application of innovative technologies to alleviate and reduce the impact of climate change and global warming in the following areas:
- renewable energy sources;
- energy efficiency, and energy storage;
- carbon sequestration;
- adaptive strategies and the building of adaptive capacities to the impacts of climate change;
- emergency response to impact events;
