The Sabbatical Year, Israel, and Ecology
The Sabbatical year begins in September, and many Israeli organizations say that in this cycle it will be different. For the land of Israel to rest for a year is a Biblical imperative, but in modern times it has become a great difficulty for the millions of Jews living in the land. This panel conversation will explore current approaches in Israel to observing the Sabbatical year, as well as some of the broader environmental and spiritual issues that relate to it.
Location: The Shalev Center in Nachlaot, Jerusalem, or at a location that is convenient for the group.
